The importance of Traveling
"Once
a year go someplace you have never been before"- Dalai Lama
Since I was four years old, my parents made it a point to take me
on a vacation every summer to a new country or place I have never visited. Due
to this I have visited over 11 countries
(Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, United
Kingdom, France, US, Canada, Saudi Arabia and many more..)
When
I was young I never really understood the value of traveling. For me they were
just a new destination to spend my summer holidays. But as I grew older I
learnt the importance of traveling. Traveling is not just about visiting a
new country but it’s about learning the other countries culture, heritage and exploring/understanding
your human emotions too!
The
best education I ever received was through travel. I not only leant the areas
culture and heritage but leant how to live in the moment! I leant how to be happy and feel the moment. One
must enjoy the present, should let go of the past and shouldn’t worry about the
future. A lot of people ask me why I am so “chilled out” and how I should learn
to be more serious. Well my answer to them is: - life is too short to be
serious. One must let go of the stress and learn to live in the moment. Go
travel, you should leave your comfort zone as a whole new world is waiting out
there, just for you to explore!
Traveling
has made me a more happy, positive person. It made me realize that we aren’t that
different. Regardless of our culture, skin color, cast, religion and
geographical location we all want the same thing that is world peace and
happiness. We all want to feel safe and have some type of stability in our
life. One thing that all countries/regions
have are the stars. Though we can’t see
starts in many places, but they are always there, they are always following us.
That’s why the title of my blog is “apotelesma” Which is a Latin word
that means the effect of the stars on human destiny. The stars are always following you, now you
should follow the stars as they will lead you to your true destiny.
Twenty
years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than
by the ones you did do. So, throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe
harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. DREAM. Discover. – Mark
Twain.
This
blog page will be dedicated on all my travel destinations. I would put up all my travel destinations list,
and my views, reflections and opinions on them!
